Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash musicalization of the Gaston Leroux
novel won the 1988 Tony Award for Best Musical. Now in its seventeenth
year on Broadway. The Phantom reigns in the netherworld beneath
the stage of the Paris Opera House. Bizarrely deformed, he passes
his time terrorizes the members of the Opera, a bit of payback for
his condition he believes. But this is a love story and it comes
to pass that he falls in love with a young singer. The love is not
unrequited

Since 1987 the Majestic Theater has been one of Detroit's premiere
love music venues hosting great blues, rock, reggae, jazz and worldbeat
concerts by the likes of Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter, Burning Spear,
Jimmy Cliff, Beenie Man, John Scofield, Dr John Cassandra Wilson
to name but a few.

On April 11, 1921, the new Majestic Theatre opened it’s
doors during the Vaudeville era. The Majestic hosted a variety of
acts from Houdini to Mae West and Bob Hope. The Majestic Theatre
was named to the National Register of Historic Places and re-opened
on January 28, 1983, as an elegant center for the performing arts
in downtown Dallas.

The Majestic Theatres is three movie theatres (70, 110 and 150
seats), a 350-seat IMPROV comedy club and The Majestic Café.
